Foundation Training is a series of exercises designed to restore natural movement patterns. The exercises teach you how to effectively use your body and build it up rather than the constant break down our modern lives create. FT focuses on integrating as many muscles as possible to strengthen and elongate your core and posterior chain- which includes all the muscles that connect to your pelvis, whether above or below it. Our body is made to help itself. As long as we can get the muscles to align it properly, our breathing patterns to align properly our pelvic muscles to become more stabilized, our posture will involuntarily become stronger which will reduce pain -- Dr. Eric Goodman founder of FT
I learned FT about 8 years ago and have used it in my training and everyday routine. I have found that it helps me manage the aches and pains of being an athlete, as well has helping me correct imbalances and poor movement patterns that we develop as humans.
In September 2018 I became a certified instructor of FT. I now apply it to all my programs; surf warmups, weight lifting warm ups, and just regular body maintenance. The cool thing is you need no equipment and it can be done anywhere and any time.
